Synopsis
STC’s Cabaret Series consists of three professionally-produced Cabarets each year, in which the Main Stage Lobby is transformed into a wonderful performance venue, with seating for up to 120 guests at candlelit tables. The atmosphere is intimate and relaxing. Beer and wine is available, as are light appetizers of fruit, cheese, and desserts.
I Dreamed a Dream, featuring the musicals of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, will showcase iconic musical numbers from mega-hit shows like Les Misérables and Miss Saigon, as well as songs from some of the duo’s less-produced musicals, like Martin Guerre, The Pirate Queen, and Marguerite. Boublil and Schönberg’s musicals have pushed the boundaries of what had previously been considered possible, or even desirable, in a musical. The two are musical dramatists with a mastery of the sung-through form that allows them to tackle serious subjects with an epic dimension.
The cast of I Dreamed a Dream features STC newcomer Jonathan Blum, Michael RJ Campbell (It’s a Wonderful Life, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), STC Development Director Nicole Sterling, Mike Yee (Journey On), and STC Young Professionals Conservatory student Megan Odell. As is tradition, Executive Producing Director Michael Laun makes a cameo or two. Samuel Clein (piano) and Tim Stanley (cello) accompany the soloists.
*Note that seating in the Cabaret Stage is general admission, first-come, first-served seating, at the discretion of STC House Management. Seating opens approximately one hour before the performance.
