COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Updated Jan. 14, 2022

In accordance with the latest guidance from local, state and federal public health agencies, Sacramento Theatre Company has updated the requirements for all patrons attending STC events effective as of the date above and which will remain in effect until further notice.

In order to enter the theatre, all ticketholders – including children – will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination and a matching photo ID. If ticketholders have a medical exemption or strongly held religious beliefs, they may show proof of a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of event time and a matching photo ID.

Proof of Vaccination

“Fully vaccinated” means that your event date is at least 14 days after your final vaccine dose. You can provide a physical vaccination card, a photo on your phone of your vaccination card, or a digital vaccine record. California residents may request a digital vaccination record at

Proof of Negative PCR Test

If you have a medical exemption or strongly held religious beliefs, a negative PCR Test may be used for entry.  Proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of your event time must be in writing from a medical professional or laboratory. A photo or digital record of your negative PCR test result will also be accepted. At-home/rapid antigen tests will NOT be accepted.

Photo ID

A Driver’s License or other photo ID will be required for entry for all adults. Minors need not show a photo ID, but they must present proof of full vaccination or a negative test result as outlined above, and their accompanying adult may certify to their identity.

All patrons, regardless of age and vaccination status, will be required to wear masks inside the theatre at all times (except when consuming food or beverage in the lobby.)

Additional COVID-19 Safety Protocols

All staff and volunteers are fully vaccinated as are the instructors for the School of the Arts. Performers must show proof of vaccination and all cast and crew members test regularly to keep each other and patrons safe as they perform without masks.

In Summer 2020, we replaced our air filtration system with state-of-the-art units throughout all of our buildings, that trap and kill all airborne viruses, including flu and COVID-19, as well as exchanging with outside air multiple times per hour and near constant circulation in order to facilitate the system scrubbing the air in every space.

STC has implemented CDC recommended cleaning practices before, during and after performances, with a focus on high-touch areas. Several sanitation upgrades have also taken place, such as automatic towel & soap dispensers and hand sanitizer is available throughout the theatre lobby.

We will continue to follow all up-to-date COVID compliant guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable return to live theatre. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding our procedures.
