Young Professionals Conservatory


 

ACTING PROGRAM

The Young Professionals Conservatory (YPC) is a rigorous, 10-month training program for students ages 12 through 18 who are interested in pursuing careers in professional theatre. YPC includes weekly master classes with renowned theatre artists, a season of three shows and the opportunity to audition for age-appropriate roles in STC Mainstage productions.  

                                

      YPC performance opportunities can include:

  •  Three shows performed on Pollock Stage
  • Age-appropriate roles in Mainstage productions
  • Ambassadors performance program which performs at high-profile events throughout the region; past performances include the Sacramento Metro Chamber’s Perspectives and Cap-to-Cap Washington D.C. events and  Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson’s inauguration
  • Various regional performances, open mic nights and national and international touring throughout the year.

 Admission to the Young Professionals Conservatory and the Musical Theatre Program is by audition only; with auditions held April through September 30. Classes begin in August and culminate in a year-end showcase in May, to which regional directors, casting agents and other theatre personnel are invited.

 

 MUSICAL THEATRE PROGRAM 

 Coming Soon! This 10-month program for students ages 12 through 18 will focus on training for a career in musical theatre. The training includes singing, dancing, acting, and musical theatre performance studies. Students will have their own musical performance on the STC Mainstage.
