Classes

STC’s Acting and Theatre Classes allow students to tap into their imaginations by starting a lifelong relationship with theatre. In a nurturing, non-competitive atmosphere, students gain self-confidence while increasing skills in public speaking and cooperation. With a concentration on character development, improvisation, and the rehearsal process, classes may incorporate theatre games, scene study, monologue work, and audition techniques for students with all levels of experience. Sessions culminate in a presentation for family and friends.

“To be successful on stage requires a strong sense of community, energy and shared expectations. Working together as an ensemble optimizes motivation and promotes the expectation that the actors are all in it together.” -Glass, Meyer, and Rose from “Universal Design for Learning and the Arts”, Harvard Educational Review
