Sacramento Theatre Company Young Professionals Conservatory Student Lands Broadway Show

Sacramento Theatre Company Young Professionals Conservatory student, Noa Solorio has landed her first Broadway show.  Noa will be joining the cast of the new Broadway show, Gettin’ the Band Back Together in the role of Billie.

Noa has been with STC’s YPC program for the past 5 years.  Her first show with STC was It’s A Wonderful Life (Zuzu).  STC School of the Arts Director, Michele Hillen-Noufer recalls seeing Noa during a rehearsal for It’s A Wonderful Life.  “I observed her so in the moment that she was able to access very truthful emotion. It is not often that students that young are able to go there emotionally and in a rehearsal no less.  It was as if she knew her process (actors process) already and just needed a continued professional environment to nurture it.”  She has also been seen on our stages in shows such as Thoroughly Modern Millie (Millie), The Donner Party (Virginia Reed), this past season’s A Christmas Carol (Fan), and many more.

Gettin’ the Band Back Together tells the story of Mitch Papadopoulos who has aspirations of being the next Bruce Springsteen, but has chosen to have a steady day job instead.  Then, one day he’s pink slipped and has to move back in with his mom.  However, when his high-school arch nemesis threatens to foreclose on their house, Mitch must win The Battle of the Bands to save it.

Noa will join an all star cast featuring 5 time Golden Globe nominee, Marilu Henner, Rock of Ages alum, Mitchell Jarvis, as well as lots of other talent.  The show will be directed by Tony Award winner (Urinetown: The Musical), John Rando.

When asked what her time at STC meant to her, Noa said “STC’s Young Professionals Conservatory gave me a safe place to explore and gain confidence as an actor. Getting to work in mainstage shows gave me more insight into the professional theatre world while I learned from the youth and adult actors around me. Not only did STC provide me with excellent training, it gave me a community where I met some of my closest friends who are now like family to me. My time with STC has been absolutely invaluable and I could not have asked for a better place to grow up.”

Previews will begin on July 19, 2018 with Opening Night being on August 13, 2018.  The show will play at the Belasco Theatre in New York City.  For more information on the show, please visit www.gettinthebandbacktogether.com, or follow them on Twitter, and Instagram @gettintheband.
