What does the role of stage make up have in a production? The sole reason to wear make up on stage is to highlight your facial features for performance under the bright stage lights. HOWEVER, it can be intimidating about knowing what to buy or what you might need on a regular basis, so this workshop is perfect for beginners who want to start their makeup kit with their existing, non-stage make up. Participants should bring their make up bags and an open mind!
This introduction workshop will offer instruction in fundamental techniques in basic “fight” disciplines recognized by industry professionals. The emphasis is on the development of technique and process, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and the fundamental techniques needed to protect the actor and their instrument when engaged in dramatic physical encounters. Styles of stage combat to be covered is Unarmed/Hand to Hand.
What do Regina George, Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, Luke Skywalker, and Frodo Baggins all have in common? When it comes to creating new characters, bringing them to life on stage, and quickly understanding them in the audience, archetypes can be one of our most powerful tools. In this workshop we will be on our feet exploring characters from Shakespeare, our favorite pop culture, and new plays and musicals. We’ll share what we already know about these familiar figures, what we didn’t realize we knew, and how archetypes are key to unlocking character development on the page and on the stage.

For the first time since our INCREDIBLE Cruising through the 70’s gala back in 2019, The Black & Red Gala is back and this time, we’ve brought some friends!
On April 15th, 2023, starting at 5:00pm, the STC campus transforms into a glitzy, glamorous opening night as some of Sacramento’s most notable personalities, performing alongside STC’s most familiar faces, take the stage by storm!
Acting with the Stars include Steve Hansen, Jody Bogle, Bob Bale, Anh Phong, and lots of Local Celebrities and Personalities!
