Synopsis

The story involves the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show’s director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi. A secondary romance concerns Lois Lane, the actress playing Bianca, and her gambler boyfriend, Bill, who runs afoul of some gangsters.

Kiss Me, Kate is performed by STC School of the Arts Pre-Professional Ensemble and Young Professional Conservatory students.

The Pre-Professional Ensemble program serves students ages 7 to 13 and culminates in a full-length production on STC’s stages. These workshops, taught by professional directors & actors, offer students the experience of participating in a fully-produced musical with sets, costumes, and lighting, as well as performance and collaboration skills as they work together to tell great stories.
